As promised, here is my completed vision board that I will be hanging in my office for a daily reminder of my goals throughout the year. I focused on travel destinations, how I would like to feel personally and professionally as well as business philosophies and tools. Hopefully you can start one of your own and be inspired.
This past Friday I was asked to attend a Tea Party at the Homewood Suites in Columbia hosted by Joyce Rhine for her female corporate clients. The purpose? To take some time out from our busy schedules to do something fun, learn a little and meet other business women in the area.
Well the Bride and Groom may have thought they were supposed to be the center of attention on their wedding day but the ring bearer stole the show. I can't tell you how many photos I have of this little guy but he was pure entertainment. Here he is with the Groom playing air fiddle to the Dave Matthews song, Louisiana Bayou. This was preceded by air saxophone and followed up with air keyboard. A true musical prodigy.
Today in my women's networking group we started to work on our vision boards. I had no idea what this was until a fellow businesswoman, San Hicks, explained the concept to me and shared some of her past creations. Basically it is a map of your goals and desires both personal and professional. It is a visual reminder of all the things you're working towards and a source of constant inspiration. We brought in magazines and scissors and started to work cutting out images and words to express ourselves. Below is a link with instructions to start your own vision board. I'll be sure to post mine when it's completed.
The Embassy Suites in Old Town Alexandria has everything you could want in a wedding venue. An historic location, a beautiful atrium, unique ballroom space and suites for all your guests. The staff was friendly and the food was excellent. Even the parking garage was a pleasant experience. I didn't get to explore all the areas available this time around so I'm looking forward to working here again.
