This was tough event to photograph. Just listening to the patients talk of their experiences brought tears to my eyes on more than one occasion. They spoke of being given second chances, turning their lives around, attending weddings and meeting grandchildren all because a device was extending their lives. The amount of gratitude being expressed in the room by patients and staff alike, was overwhelming.
